What makes a valid prediction?
Any statement about a future outcome that can be objectively verified as correct or incorrect when a deadline passes. "Arsenal will win the Premier League" is valid. "Arsenal play well sometimes" is not — it cannot be resolved to a clear correct or incorrect outcome.
How long can deadlines be?
Minimum 1 day, maximum 5 years. You pick the deadline when you post. Choose a date when the outcome will realistically be known — for a football match prediction, the day of the match. For a political prediction, a realistic verification date.
What categories are available?
Sports, Politics, Technology, Business, Personal, Culture, NHS, and Other. Categories help people find relevant predictions and filter the feed. Choose the one that best fits — if unsure, use Other.
What happens if I never resolve a prediction?
It stays on your profile permanently but does not count towards your accuracy score until resolved. Unresolved predictions are visible to anyone who views your profile. If the deadline has passed and you still have not resolved it, other users can flag it for attention.
What constitutes a correct resolution?
You decide — but your resolution is public. If you mark a missed prediction as correct, anyone can see both your original prediction and your resolution call. Community members can dispute resolutions they believe are wrong. Be honest: permanent predictions with dishonest resolutions are permanent evidence of dishonesty.
Can I edit a prediction after posting?
No. Predictions are immutable. The statement, category, and deadline are locked the moment you post. This is the core design principle of Called It. — accountability requires permanence.
Can I delete a prediction?
No. Predictions cannot be deleted, even if you delete your account. The public record of your prediction remains visible on the platform. This is what "permanent" means.
Does voting on other people's predictions affect my score?
No. Your accuracy score is based entirely on predictions you personally made and resolved. Backing or disputing someone else's prediction has no effect on your own accuracy score.
What happens to my predictions if I'm inactive?
Predictions remain permanently on the platform regardless of account status. If your account is closed, your predictions remain visible as public records. We do not delete prediction data. See our data export section in Settings to download your full prediction history at any time.
What's the difference between a community prediction and a global prediction?
When you make a prediction inside a community, it appears both in that community's feed and the global feed. It counts towards both your global accuracy score and your community-specific accuracy score. You can also choose to post community-only predictions visible only to community members.
How does community verification work?
Community verification is currently in development. When launched, it will allow other users to formally dispute a resolution before it is finalised. Until then, all resolutions are self-reported and are marked as such. We are transparent about this limitation.
What is the Oracle tier system?
Tiers are based on your accuracy score and total resolved predictions. Higher tiers mean your votes carry more weight in prediction sentiment. See the full tier table on our How Scoring Works page.
